Maya Blackmon

Crochet Instructor

Meet Maya Victoria Blackmon, born and raised in Miami, FL but embraced the world of crochet and knitting in Bronxville, NY. Thanks to facetime and her mothers extroversion, Maya learned the foundations of crocheting from Yvette Malloy-Jiggetts; her mother’s college roommate. Since creating her first project, Maya has only become more interested in learning fiber arts skills and participating in the trade. In her spare time when she isn’t frequenting yarn libraries, Maya loves to roller skate, volunteering at community gardens and environmental organizations, collaging, attending local live music shows, cooking and hosting picnics with friends.
